Scalloped Birthday

For this card, I combined a couple of challenges. Clean&Simple #184 had the sketch below.

And CR84FN Color Challenge #51, with this colour scheme.

I confess I used two shades of pink (although the paler one looks weirdly orangey in the picture. must invest in better lighting!) to fit it with the sketch, but I think it still counts :)

And I'm also submitting it for this weeks challenge over at The Pink Elephant, which is 'clean and simple'

I used some card from my scraps box and used my Martha Stewart punch for the scallops. Used a stampin' up sentiment in pink ink and the flower came from the Works.

I'm not totally happy with it... I think if I was doing it again, I might have embossed the card first to give a little more texture, but it's not bad and I need to start building up my cards again (especially birthday cards) as I gave a bunch away recently *g*

  1. What a wonderful sketch Kerry Louise, I love the colours in the scallop borders, and finished off so beautifully with the flower and sweet banner.
Thanks for joining us at CR84FN this week!
