Flower Power

I used textured brown paper and then added yet more texture by running it through my cuttle bug. Pink paper from the Born to Shop range. The flowers came from the Craft Essentials embellishments range and the ribbon from my stash. The sentiment (which looks faint in this picture...) is Papermania and I used a small dragonfly - but I can't recall where that is from.

I used the sketch from iSpy Sketches: ISSC10 with Debbie Olson:

And am also submissing it to:
- Cupcake Craft Challenge #187 - Spring is in the Air
- Everybody Art Challenge #188 - Spring
- The Pink Elephant #143 - Flowers
- Crafty Creations Challenges #165 - Flower Power

Happy Birthday Bow

Second (and last) card of the day. This one uses the fabulous colours on this weeks Colour Create Challenge #93 - Deep Purple, Bright Green and Cream (with an optional extra of a bow.

And I used sketch #185 from clean&simple stamping

I used BoBunny green paper and dark purple card from the papermill shop. The large letter stamps are papermania and the word 'birthday' is masked from a sentiment (which I think is daisy and dandelion). I used ribbon, a button and gem from my stash, sewing the button onto the bow I'd tied and adding the gem for a bit of sparkle before sticking them onto to the card - and then backed the whole thing onto a folded base card.

I'm also submitting it for this weeks Crafty Catz Weekly challenge #127 - Make a Clean and Simple card.

"Less is More": Week 62 Colour Challenge

Real life seems determined to stop me crafting this month, a bug knocked me on my backside over the weekend, but now I has a new card to show you.

This card is for the "Less is More" challenge, we're onto week 62 and it's a colour challenge - use three shades of green.

I used cut a scrap bit of white card to 1 3/4inches wide and scored the edges with my score board. I stamped the three dragonflies with black papermania ink - I can't remember where the dragonfly stamps came from, I think it was Daisy and Dandelion, but don't quote me on that! - and coloured them with marsh green, pear green and lime green promarkers and stuck the panel to my card base, before adding the sentiment.

Steampunk Birthday Card

Today's card is one I've been half planning in my head for a while... and then several challenges came along this week that helped me decide on the final design.

I knew I wanted to do something with a steampunk theme for a friends birthday, I just needed to find the perfect image and papers. I had planned on ordering some this month but then the last edition of crafts beautiful came with some gorgeous papers by Jenny Ellory and I knew I just had to use them!

I used the Jenny Ellory papers and a fantastic digital image from KennyK after being inspired by the images used at MAWTT's this week. Val Ventura, is coloured with promarkers - Henna, Chestnut, March Green, Pear Green, Spice, Caramel, Dusky Rose and Blush.

Added flowes from petaloo, coloured with dusky rose and marsh green, a flourish I cut ages ago with a sizzix die, from Papermania Hampstead papers and some ribbon and pearls from my stash. The sentiment is Stampin' up and the verse is of course computer generated.

The challenges that I'm entering it for are:
- My Time to Craft #176 - Easel Card
- Moving Along With the Times #143 - Va Va Voom
- Part Time Tuesdays #62 - Flowers
- Simon Says - Use your Favourite tool (my cuttlebug!)
- Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

iSpy Sketches: ISSC09 with Emily Keaton

Slipping in just in time with the sketch from iSpy Sketches this week. It's super cute and I really wanted to make a card with it!

I used freebie papers I got from Crafts beautiful magazine, by Alison Butler. Hand stitched (which I suspect is obvious from the lack of even stitches! doh!) and backed it on black card, then used black and white pearl darning thread together to wrap around and tie a the bow. And finally the sentiment is stampin up. I was very tempted to add gems or pearls, but I really don't think it needed them, even if I really do like adding them *g*

Scalloped Birthday

For this card, I combined a couple of challenges. Clean&Simple #184 had the sketch below.

And CR84FN Color Challenge #51, with this colour scheme.

I confess I used two shades of pink (although the paler one looks weirdly orangey in the picture. must invest in better lighting!) to fit it with the sketch, but I think it still counts :)

And I'm also submitting it for this weeks challenge over at The Pink Elephant, which is 'clean and simple'

I used some card from my scraps box and used my Martha Stewart punch for the scallops. Used a stampin' up sentiment in pink ink and the flower came from the Works.

I'm not totally happy with it... I think if I was doing it again, I might have embossed the card first to give a little more texture, but it's not bad and I need to start building up my cards again (especially birthday cards) as I gave a bunch away recently *g*

CC&CC: Challenge 9 - Fancy Folds

Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge #9 this time was 'Fancy Folds' - I admit I don't do a lot of fancy folds, but I got a free score board in one of my papercraft magazines and this seemed like a good excuse to test it - and try a stepper card :)

I made this on Saturday, but something about it just wasn't right, so I left it and went back today and changed the paper on the back panel - originally I'd used the same paper on both panels, but it just didn't look right, but I'm much happier with the change in paper.

Both papers are from Papermania's Birdsong range. I can't remember where the stamps came from, but I stamped them with papermania inks and then used red and pink for the dragon flies, just to give a little pop of colour. The sentiment is Stampin' Up and I finished with some ribbon and gems from my stash.

This is all the 100th! post on my blog tagged 'challenge card' - although it is I believe the 101st actual card, as one post from a few months ago had two cards for different challenges! Can't believe I've entered 100(+1, lol) challenges! Most of them since just the start of this year! Thank you for everyone who has left comments and the few who have followed me! I really appreciate every one of you!
