Baby Stars

Not quite a traditional baby card - but then I sort of loath the whole 'pink for a girl/blue for a boy' thing anyway, lol! - I used papers from We R Memory Keepers Travel Light and Woodland Folk. The stamp is from Pollycraft, coloured with promarkers - bright orange, amber, honeycomb, spice and blush.

I cut and I separated the star shaped balloon from the rest of the image and raised it on dimensional pads, brushing over it lightly with a papermania orange ink pad. The stars were some pre-cuts a friend sent me, the sentiment from Stampin' Up and I finished with a few gems.

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop #158:

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC52

CAS-ual Fridays challenge #52 this week is to make a CAS card with a bird.

I went long for this card with a 3.5x8 inch base card. The stamp is an old one - that I think is from Laura Ashley! - and I stamped it with black papermania ink.

I wanted to keep the colours very soft, so I used pencils to colour, only colouring the peacock and the flowers, to keep it all very simple.

I added the sentiment from Stampin' up and three small blue gems at the top - I was going to have black gems, but I thought the blue gems would just draw it in with the colouring of the peacocks body.

Three Little Words...

When I saw this mornings "Less is More" challenge #67 I immediately knew what I wanted to do!

The challenge was to create a one layer card, using three different stamps.

I got a fabulous stampin' up set from a friend for my birthday and knew it would be just perfect - so I got them out and ink from papermania - taking my colour scheme from the Simply Stampin' Challenge that also went up today and finished it off with three little pearls.

I'm also submitting this for Creative Card Crew #10 - Sentiment as Focal Point.

You're So Sweet

I used kraft card from Sew Sweet and Raspberry Road paper from the Summer Goodness paper pack. The digistamp came from Pollycraft, coloured with promarkers - canary, mustard, buttercup, honeycomb, ruby, lime green, rose pink, sandstone and henna.

I didn't layer this up like I would normally do, but rather cut the circle through the design paper and had the digi underneath, then added a frame over the top, cutting space in the frame to add the sentiment, which was a freebie cut out from cards and papercraft magazine. It give's it a slightly different look that I quite like.

The flowers are raspberry road paper and a little bit from Pink Paislee's Spring Jubilee pack, with a gem in the center and I added a few gems to the corners to finish.

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop #157:

If I Searched the Whole World...

I confess, I shamelessly stole this idea from a card I saw recently in a card shop... well at least the idea of using the map as a background. I thought it looked cool and decided I needed to do it!

The map was printed from the computer, backed on card from the paper company. I printed the digi stamp from Birds Cards and coloured it with promarkers - pear green, sky blue, slate, cool grey 3, cool grey 4 and canary. The sentiment is computer generated and I used a couple of gems from my stash to make the easel card sit right.

I'm submitting this for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes and Just Keep on Creating - Anything Goes

Under the Weather

I used a fabulous digi from Birds Cards for this, coloured with promarkers - caramel, black, slate and cornflower. I used a tri-boss universal embossing folder for the background and cut the image and scalloped circle with my nesties. Punched the borders under my ribbon with the x-cut lace trim border punch and added the yellow ribbon from Sew Sweet and finished with a few yellow gems.

I used Carabilities Sketch #54:

Freshly Made Sketches #33

I'm skidding in just under the wire for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #33 with Jen Mitchell.

I used New Leaf papers by Mindy Terasawa, layered on plain brown card. The image and sentiment are both from the Stampin' Up Morning Coffee set - a gift from a wonderful friend at Easter - the image is coloured with promarkers - Amber, Caramel and Dusky Rose and I finished with a few gems.
