CAS-ual Fridays: CFC46

First time I've had chance to get crafty since I got home from Bristol on Monday (okay that's not strictly true, I had time yesterday, but I was busy being lazy and having a PJ day because it felt like I hadn't stopped since I got home! lol!)

Todays card is for this weeks CAS-ual Fridays challenge #46.

CFC46: Create a Clean And Simple project based on a song.
*Whether you take your inspiration from the song title or the lyrics, please share which song inspired you.*

I'm sure it's fairly obvious what song I picked - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - and I used a stamp by born to shop, because lets face it, shopping is fun! :-D

I coloured the image and the words with promarkers - china blue, ruby, bright orange, buttercup, blush, rose pink, dusky rose, poppy, caramel, lime green and marine and added a gem on the 'i' in Girls for a little sparkle.

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC43

This weeks CAS-ual Fridays challenges #43 was to create a card with the sentiment as the focal point.

I almost immediately knew what I wanted to do - unfortunately the gap between 'what I wanted' and 'what came out' was a little wider than I would have liked, but it's close and not terrible for something I've never tried before.

I used a leaf stamp - I can't remember where it's from - masked of a square in the middle and used three different papermania inks, to stamp leaves around the square. I decided against masking the leaves each time as I really wanted the overlap effect of the inks... and finished with a large dovecraft sentiment stamp, inked over with both the green and brown I used with the leaves. It's hard to tell from the picture, but irl you can see the green showing through the brown, giving the text a slightly distressed and more interesting look.

Thank You Birds

Last card for the day and this one is a thank you card.

The papers are papermania birdsong, the stamp is a freebie from a magazine. The flowers are petaloo colour me crazy, coloured with promarkers and I cut a flourish with sizzix dies from a scrap bit of paper (that I think is from papermania's hempstead collection) - and I finished with a few gems from my stash.

I am submitting this for:
Allsorts Challenge Blog #145 - Say It With Flowers
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards #8 - Feathers and Fur
Totally Papercrafts #107 - My Favourite things (gems and flowers) Penny Black and More - Springtime

"Less is More" Week 58 One Layer - Script

I almost wanted to run screaming from this weeks "Less is More" Challenge - one layer cards are by far the thing I'm least confident with. And when I saw the challenge was to use some sort of script - well I knew I didn't have any suitable stamps! (really must invest in more stamps of every sort under the sun!) But I missed last weeks challenge due to a combination of being busy and being unwell, so I wanted to get this weeks done, especially as I'll be away from the 14th for 10 days so will miss maybe another 2 weeks.

Although I had no suitable stamps, my cuttlebug came to the rescue with a script embossing folder! I used a freebie stamp from erm... well whichever magazine it was - inked in brown papermania ink and the sentiment from Stampin' Up, inked in the same.

I Don't Do Mornings

This card is really one I should send to myself, because it could not be more true of me! lol!

I used the sketch from this weeks Sketch N Stash #82.

The design paper and stamp are both Born to Shop - the paper pack I've had for over a year and only used a few sheets! I used dark blue card from the paper mill, some blue ribbon from my stash and some new gems I got from discount craft bin at The Works - that place is so handy for little things like gems and pearls and at only £1 a pack I really can't complain!

I'm also submitting this for Creative Card Crew #5 Humour

Happy Easter

I really am behind on my cards! (Although I've got a box full of cards that say otherwise, lol!) so today is a catch up day, hopefully!

I used this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop Sketch #148 - to make this Easter card for my cousins little girl.

I used papers I got from crafts beautiful magazine, they are by Alison Butler. The image is Lily of the Valley - coloured with promarkers: cool grey 3, cool grey 4, vanilla, canary, amber, duck egg, lilac, amethyst, lime green and sandstone.

I layered it up on card from the paper company and used felt flowers with buttons to finish. I wasn't going to use the felt flowers, but as my little (2nd) cousin is only going to be 17months around Easter, I thought the felt would be something nice for her to touch and feel the texture off compared to paper flowers.

I'm submitting this for several challenges beyond the Sweet Stop one:
- One Stop Craft Challenge - #172 Button It
- Paper Creations Ink - #20 Spring is in the Air
- Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
- Stampavie and More - #164 Spring/Easter
- The Pink Elephant Challenge - #138 Lets See Those Layers

Especially For You

I used this sketch from The Pink Elephant Challenge #137:

And CR84FN Color Challenge #49

I used 'moodles gregory tie' from Pollycraft, coloured with promarkers - cool grey 3, cool grey 4, sandstone and mustard. The paper is from Bo Bunny and I used kraft card from the paper company. The sentiment is a sticker backed on card - it's from Daisy and Dandelion. And I finished with a couple of smoky coloured gems.

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC42

It's Friday, which of course means CAS-ual Fridays!

CFC42: Hey Baby! Clean And Simple Baby Projects

I used stamps from a little set I got out of the £1 store *ages* ago and some black card and pink paper from my scraps box.

A Birthday Toast...

I used a lily of the valley image, coloured with promarkers - spice, caramel, sandstone, duck egg, mustard, black, almond and dusky rose. The papers are Bo Bunny's Flutter Butter...I'm not sure where the sentiment is from... but it's inked in papermania in. I mounted everything on dark brown card and added gems to finish.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge #7 - Drink Up
Out Creative Corner - Over the Edge
PaperPlay Challenge '12 - Week 9 - Something Old, Something New (my something new is the lily of the valley image which I only recently got, my something old is the Bon Bunny Flutter Butter papers)
Aud Sentiments Challenge #49 - Happy Birthday

CPS Card Sketches #254

I made this card using this weeks Card Positioning Systems sketch #254.

The image is Lily of the Valley, coloured with promarkers - chestnut, marsh green, forest green, cool grey 3, cool grey 4. I used Woodland folk papers, layered on dark green card from the paper company. The sentiment is stampin' up and I finished with some pearls from my stash.
