Perfect Pear

It's not often that I look at a sketch and go 'ooh that' but this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch came together in my mind pretty quickly! And then I got distracted with other things and nearly forgot to make it in time, oops!

I used papers from Recollections Charming pack, layered on a brown card base. I cut one of the papers with a note pad cutting file on my cameo and cut the circle frame on there too. The sentiment and adorable pear stamps are from Birdie Brown and I coloured the pears with my promarkers and added three little brown pearls as the only embellishment.

I am submitting this for:

- Mojo Monday #409 - Sketch
- Addicted to Stamps #156 - Anything Goes
- Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Anything But A Birthday

We're The Perfect Blend

A wonderful friend of mine, who knows my coffee addiction well sent me this awesome Latte Love set from Fiskars a few months ago and this is to my eternal shame, the first time it's seen ink!

I cut a card base in brown and used paper from My Minds Eye. Coloured the stamps in with my promarkers and added a little heart button, some twine and a couple of little gems. It literally took me longer to decide which of the coffee stamps to use first, than to make the whole card, lol!

I'm submitting this too:
- Freshly Made Sketches #193 - Sketch
- Whimsy Stamps Challenge #84 - Use Ribbon, Lace or Twine
- Inspiration Destination Challenge #40 - Anything Goes

I got to play with the brilliant, Love Birds! And a sentiment from the Love is in the Air, Sentiment Set!

I used papers from First Editions J'adore pack, distressed them by running scissors over the edges, crinkling them up, and brushing them up a bit with an ink pad. Coloured up my image with my promarker then added my bling, with some red and clear gems around the heart.

"True Love Stories Never End"

It's been a few weeks since I've been on and real life has been hectic - my Mum had surgery on a brain aneurysm, amongst more general madness. She's going pretty well now, so I had a bit of time to dedicate to some crafting and made this card.

I used teresa collins fabrications papers layered on brown card. The image is from Spesch Stamps, coloured with promarkers: sandstone, caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, blush, soft peach, dusky rose, pastle pink, pear green, marsh green, olive green, sky blue, shale, cool grey 4, slate, honeycomb, spice, terracotta, lilac, lavender and amethyst.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite fairytales (and disney movies, lol!)

I used lace, a button, flower and pearls to embellish, as well as a cute little key/heart charm.

I think this will end up being an anniversary card for two friends who's anniversary is in September. She loves Disney and will appreciate it for that alone and luckily, the husband isn't the sort to take offence at being cast as 'the beast' *g*

I'm submitting this for:

- Stamp with Fun #216 - Sketch
- Crafty Creations Challenges #227 - Your Favourite Fairytake
- Anything Goes Challenge Blog #95 - Buttons, Pearl and Lace

Less Is More: Week 99-100

This weeks/fortnights challenge on "Less Is More" was 'drinks' - well my favourite drink is coffee, so I pulled out an image from the cutting cafe and made this quick card. The paper is a freebie from crafts beautiful magazine a few months ago and I layered on black card, adding a few gems to finish.

"Less is More" Week 98 - Anniversary

I was going to do the card for this weeks Less is More anniversary challenge, on a white card base, but I'd never tried inking directly onto kraft before so I thought, what the heck, lets give it a go and I'm reasonably pleased with how it turned out.

I used nesties to emboss the two squares and sponged in the middle one with blue and yellow inks, before stamping the sentiment (from stampin' up) and the image (freebie from some magazine or another) in brown ink and adding three small clear gems to finish. Very easy to do, took far more time thinking about than making! lol!

CAS-ual Fridays #70

A quick card for this weeks CAS-ual Friday's Challenge 'black and white plus one color of your choice'

I embossed part of the card with swiss dots, used a bit of ribbon that I think came of some packaging... used my nesties to cut the circles and stamped the sentiment from stampin' up and added the hearts from Art Work and three little gems.

Very simple and took me longer to figure out what I was doing that to do it! Which is just typical really! lol!

White On White

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #174 this week was white on white. I've never done a white on white card and if I'm honest the idea terrified me a little, but I have seen some absolutely stunning ones out there so I decided to give it a go.

I combined that with this weeks Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge #57 - More that Words (create a card using a long sentiment or a verse) and came up with the card below.

I used a 5x5 card base, ran a slightly smaller piece of white card through the cuttlebug with swiss dots folder. Then cut a plain and scalloped square from more white card with my nesties and used a very pale silver ink to ink a flower and embossed it with clear powder onto the white square. I used my nesties again to cut the vellum with the verse (it was in a magazine I got about 2yrs ago... and stuck that over the top of the white square. Added ribbon and pearl hearts from my stash and layered it all up.

For my first attempt at white on white (except for the verse obviously...) I don't hate it. I think it could make a very nice card for an engagement/wedding/anniversary depending on the verse I put inside.

Happy Anniversary

Cutting it close again today with this card for The Sweet Shop Sketch #145.

I used black and red card stock on a white card base, embossed the red with cuttlebug swiss dots folder - I love my swiss dots folder, its just so versatile! - and used an image from Lily of the Valley, coloured with Promarkers - Ruby, Poppy, Slate, Black, Maroon, Cool Grey 3, Cool Grey 4, Blush, Lime Green and Chestnut.

The 'Happy Anniversary' sentiment is Stampin' Up and the ribbon and pearl embellishments came from my stash.

I'm also submitting this to:

Charisma Cardz - #6 Anniversary!
